In 2005 Rhode Island Organ Donor Awareness Coalition (RIODAC) celebrated its 20th anniversary as a volunteer-led 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our members include transplant recipients and candidates, donor families, healthcare professionals, and transplant / donation advocates. Agency members include the Rhode Island Hospital Transplant Center, New England Organ Bank and National Kidney Foundation. RIODAC is a member of the National Coalition on Donation. RIODAC works to increase organ and tissue donation through public education about the critical need for donor organs and tissue. We offer informational programs in schools, workplaces and the community, hold donor drives and public awareness events, do media outreach, and collaborate with member agencies. RIODAC also provides information and support to transplant recipients, candidates, and donor families through newsletters, monthly informational programs and co-sponsorship of a Transplant Support Group at Rhode Island Hospital.
